The Altitude Centre Ireland Ltd was established in 2011 and specialises in simulated altitude equipment and expertise on altitude training. Simulated altitude training enhances athletic performance, improves recovery, prepares people for trips to high altitude and supports general health, weight-loss and well-being.

We also specialise in designing complete room systems that can be installed at gyms, place of work, or private residence.

Colin Griffin, Founder and Director
A former Irish international athlete, two-time Olympian (2008 and 2012) and successful coach, Colin has played a pioneering role in the development of altitude training facilities in Ireland.
A strong advocate of altitude training and the use of simulated altitude equipment with personal success, Colin initiated the idea and helped develop the National Altitude Training Centre at the University of Limerick - the first and only residential altitude training facility in the UK and Ireland. The project was commissioned by The Altitude Centre.
Colin has a degree in Public Administration from the University of Limerick (2005), a degree in Strength and Conditioning from Setanta College (2015) and a Masters degree in Coaching and Exercise Science from University College Dublin (2016). Colin also works at the Sports Surgery Clinic in Dublin as a strength and conditioning coach within a pioneering and dynamic sports medicine team. Colin is an accredited Strength & Conditioning coach with the Irish Institute of Sport, Athletics Ireland Level 3 (IAAF Level 5) coach and specialised altitude trainer. He has represented Ireland at all levels including World Championships and Olympic Games.
Colin has had first-hand experience of competing at the highest level in high performance sport and in a professional capacity working with the best athletes and sports science and medicine personnel.
